Moving inland, away from the Beach areas I’ve enjoyed living in for decades, I’ve struggled to find bits of tranquility in the cacophony of Los Angeles. ‘Walk With Me’ is a blog series I’ve dreamed up to push me out the door in search of sanctuary. With my camera as a faithful companion, I can now share what captivates my eye with you no matter where you are.
Walk With Me
The fireworks electrifying night’s onyx sky have burned into ash and smoke, but, the jubilee of 2013 leaping into 2014 is still thrumming through my soul. So, wide awake at 6:00 AM, I thought how wonderful it would be if you accompanied me on my first 2014 exploration of the hills. Knowing our schedules would not coincide, sharing my photographs with you might make you feel as if you had been right by my side.
Dressed in layers I could easily shed as the sun rose chasing the chill air away, I grabbed my camera to capture what captivates me in spite of all the annoying car engines and lawn mowers farting toxic clouds of exhaust into the atmosphere.
Capturing What Captivates
Determined female that I am, even though I pine daily for our beautiful Pacific Ocean coastline, I’ve been able to find moments of serenity amidst LA’s cacophony and filth. Regardless of life’s roller coaster ride tainted with heartache and hardship that has the power to knock us off our feet, I believe we can all bounce back like a high-speed racket ball to uplift our hearts via the simplicity of a vigorous walk offering panoramas.
This particular 5 mile hike on Thursday morning, Janauary 2, 2014, offered up nature, architecture and a city’s sprawling vista. Enjoy…and note that all large bright blue words link to details.
