The mission of Lotusland in Sana Barbara County (California) is to preserve and enhance the unique historical estate of Madame Ganna Walska, care for and improve its collections, and develop its conservation and horticulture programs in order to educate us, inspire us, and advance our understanding and appreciation of the importance of plants in our lives and on Earth. The address is: Cold Spring Rd, Montecito, CA 93108

Lotusland is a Public Charity:

Madame Ganna Walska died in 1984 leaving her extraordinary garden to the Ganna Walska Lotusland Foundation. Since opening to the public in 1993, Lotusland operated as a private foundation because the majority of support was provided by one key asset: the endowment left by Madame Walska.  Now, more than one-third of financial support for the estate and gardens comes from the public through charitable contributions, contributed membership fees and gross receipts from charitable activities. As a result, Ganna Walska Lotusland was reclassified by the IRS as a public charity in 2009.
