EMOTION’S MOTION: FAMILY
Two brothers are African Elephants. The life paths they travel on are detoured by a heartbreaking experience at an early age followed by another upheaval caused by a broke promise. Their emotive reactions find them separated heading toward different roads before they have reached adulthood. Unaware of each other’s circumstances, they are determined to make the most out of their new situations.
FAMILIES ARE A NUCLEUS of INDIVIDUALS
Each family member sharing the same experience act and react remembering it differently. It is their individual emotive thoughts influencing their interactions. The individual interpretations of the event ignite choices leading to discord or unity within the familial sphere. Some families are in a constant state of a tug-of-war while others are determined to create balance.
One of Sophia Ann Montoya’s favorite books is the ‘Elephant Whisperer’ by Lawrence Anthony. The struggle between African Elephants and the encroachment of human settlements is a tragic story. It is an endless struggle of two intelligent species differing in size, lifestyle and survival tactics. Will human-wildlife coexistence ever be achieved as mediators study each conflict and level of tolerance as they strategize methods to reach and maintain balance?
